Agar Agar Fruit Pudding

                                              

In this recipe post, I’ll share how to prepare agar agar fruit pudding. 

Jelly Fruit Pudding is a vegetarian fresh fruit cake made with agar agar. The cake is burst of flavours , looks beautiful and is very mild and light dessert. You can use the fruits of your choice. I have used pomegranate, green grapes,strawberry, dragon fruit. 


What is Agar Agar ? 

Agar-agar is a vegetarian substitute for gelatin which is tasteless , transparent and is used to solidify custards, jelly and many other desserts . Unlike gelatin, agar-agar does not melt easily but remains solid below 50 degrees C. 

Agar Agar has different names in different countries.

Ingredients Required
  • Agar Agar Powder – 2tbsp or 20gms china grass
  • Fruits of ur choice
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Water-1/2 litre
Preparation
  1. Add 20gms china grass in to a bowl
  2. Add water and let rest for 30mins
  3. Meanwhile cut fruits of your choice
  4. 30mins later add china grass bowl on the stove and cook till it is watery fro 4 to 5mins in low heat
  5. For sugar syrup add 1/2 cup water and 1/4th cup sugar, add agar agar
  6. Cook till sugar is dissolved completely
  7. Let it cool for 10mins
  8. Take a cake mould, add little syrup as a layer
  9. Now add fruits chopped
  10. Now on the top add some more syrup and leave it for 1hr
  11. 1hr later add sugar syrup into a bowl and add a pinch of food colour and mix
  12. Add that syrup as a layer
  13. Chill for 4hrs or till it is set
  14. Demould it and cut into pieces
