In this article, I’ll share how to prepare appalu. 

Sweet Appalu | Bellam Appalu Recipe is one of the sweet delicacies which is soft from the inside and has mid crunchy flavor from the outside. This recipe is made as naivedyam during festivals or offered as prasadam to Lord Hanuman.

It is said that when we make a garland with this recipe and offer it to Lord Hanuman, we will be blessed with good fortune. As this is a sweet recipe, Indians offer this recipe even during Vinakaya Chavithi and Varalakshmi Vratam pooja.

Ingredients Required
  • Wheat Flour – 1/2cup
  • Rice flour – 1cup
  • Jaggery – 1cup
  • Elachi powder – 1/2spoon
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Ghee – 2tbsp
Preparation
  1. Add jaggery into a pan and add 1 and 1/2 cup water and let jaggery melt completely
  2. Now add jaggery water into strainer and again transfer into pan
  3. Add eachi powder,mix
  4. Add rice flour , wheat flour and mix for 1min
  5. Add 2tbsp ghee and mix all together
  6. Now prepare appalu shape and deep fry them
  7. Appalu ready to serve as prasadam
