Egg Dosa

                                     

In this article, I’ll share how to prepare egg dosa 4 varieties easy way. 

Egg Dosa is a popular South Indian dish where the traditional dosa is topped with eggs and spices. It comes together in just 10 minutes and makes for a great breakfast or snack.

You will see many versions of this dish but now I am sharing 4 varieties of egg dosa with all readily available ingredients. There are many Egg recipes which are easy to prepare.

Ingredients Required
  • Uraddal – 2cups
  • Rice – 4cups
  • Salt – 3tbsp
  • Pepper powder – 1/4tsp
  • Eggs – 5
  • Red chilli powder – 1/4tsp
  • Onion – 2
  • Cumin seeds – 1tsp
  • Green chillies – 2
  • Carrot – 1 grated
  • Oil

Preparation

For Dosa batter
  1. Add uraddal, rice and clean once
  2. Add water and soak for 6hrs
  3. 6hrs later grind to fine batter and ferment for 8hrs
  4. 8hrs later add salt, water and mix, get to flowing consistency
For 1st Variety Egg Dosa
  1. Spread dosa on a dosa pan, spread oil all over
  2. Cook for 1min and add add on top of it, spread all over dosa
  3. Sprinkle pepper powder on it and fry both sides
  4. 1st variety egg dosa is ready
For 2nd Variety Egg Dosa
  1. Spread dosa on a dosa pan, spread oil all over
  2. Cook for 1min and add add on top of it, spread all over dosa
  3. Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder on it and fry both sides
  4. 2nd variety egg dosa is ready
For 3rd variety Egg Dosa
  1. Add oil to heated pan, fry 1/2tsp cumin seeds, 1onion till it turns translucent
  2. Add to mixi jar, add salt, red chilli powder and grind to fine paste and keep aside
  3. Spread dosa on a dosa pan, spread oil all over
  4. Cook for 1min and add add on top of it, spread all over dosa
  5. Now spread grounded paste all over dosa, on top of that add egg and spread, fry both sides
  6. 3rd variety egg dosa is ready
For 4th variety Egg Dosa
  1. Add chopped onion, green chillies, grated carrot, cumin seeds, salt, red chilli powder and mix all together
  2. Add eggs and mix and keep aside
  3. Spread dosa on a dosa pan, spread oil all over
  4. Cook for 1min and add add on top of it, spread all over dosa
  5. Now spread egg mixture on dosa and fry both sides
  6. 4th variety egg dosa is ready
