Eggless Ravva Cake

                   

In this article, I’ll share how to prepare eggless ravva cake easy way. 

Rava Cake in Pressure Cooker is  the most easiest cake recipe that anyone could make. This Rava Cake is Eggless, has no Maida in it, No Oil and No Butter.

Rava Cake | Sooji Cake | Semolina Cake is a pretty popular Indian cake. Rava cake (eggless) is really easy to make at home, does not require any special equipment or expertise, which makes it a perfect beginner’s cake.


 It is a simple and easy to follow recipe that even a 5 year old can make it. Today I made this Rava Cake in a Pressure Cooker. A recipe that can be modified by adding flavours of your choice like Almonds, Mango, Coconut you name it and you get that in this cake. I'm adding tutti fruitti.

Ingredients

  • Bombay Ravva(Sooji)- 1cup
  • Sugar- 3/4th cup
  • Milk powder or Maida - 2tbsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Baking Soda- 1/2tsp
  • Baking Powder - 1tsp
  • Vanilla essence - 1/2tsp
  • Curd - 1/2cup
  • Milk - 3/4th cup
  • Vegetable oil(Refined Oil) - 1/4th cup
  • Tutti fruitti(optional)


Method
  1. Add 1 cup sooji into a mixi jar and grind to fine powder.
  2. Transfer sooji powder into a bowl and add 3/4th cup sugar and grind into fine powder and transfer into a bowl.
  3. Now add milk powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, curd, milk, vanilla essence, oil into same bowl to which we added sooji powder and sugar powder
  4. Mix all together, close lid and let rest for 10 to 15mins.
  5. 15mins later add tutti fruitti, it is optional, instead of tutti fruitti you can add chopped dry fruits also.
For Baking
  1. Meanwhile grease cake mould with oil and keep aside
  2. 15mins later preheat cooker by closing lid without gasket for 5min
  3. 5min later add cake mix into greased mould and tap 2 to 3 times so that air bubbles removes
  4. Now add it into preheated cooker and bake for about 30mins.
  5. Baking time is based on the cake mix consistency
  6. After 30mins check with tooth pick whether it is baked properly.
  7. Then turn off the stove and let it cool for sometime
  8. After it is cooled completely cut into pieces and cake is ready to serve.
