In this article, I’ll share how to prepare mirchi bajji curry.
This is different and tasty curry and maybe many dont know this recipe. This is the recipe which my grandmother used to make in my childhood. She used to try many recipes in olden days. This is one of the recipe I learned from her.
It tastes great with rice, roti, chapathi etc. Lets checkout this recipe. I am sharing my Youtube video here so it would be easy for you to follow.
Ingredients Required
- Besan – 1cup
- Rice flour – 1/4th cup
- Green chillies
- Salt – 2tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1/2tsp
- Turmeric – 1/2tsp
- Cooking soda – 1/2tsp
- Ajwain – 3tsp
- Onion – 2
- Tomatoes – 2
- Cumin seeds – 1tsp
- Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
- Oil for deep fry
Preparation
- Slice green chillies into half
- Insert ajwain powder into green chillies and keep them aside
- Add besan, rice flour into a mixing bowl
- Add salt, cooking soda and mix all together
- Add water and prepare thick consistency batter that bajjis can be made
- Add oil for deep fry
- Now dip green chillies inserted with ajwain powder into the batter and drop into hot oil and fry till colour changes
- Now cut them into 2 inch size and deep fry them again so that green chillies are also fried properly
- Add tomatoes into a mixi jar and make puree and keep aside
- Now add oil into a heated pan
- Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped onion and fry till colour changes
- Add tomato puree and cook till tomato is cooked perfectly
- Add salt, turmeric, 1/2tsp red chilli powder and mix all together
- Add 1cup water and cook till water is boiled
- Add cut mirchi into curry and cook for 2mins
- Finally garnish with coriander leaves
- Can be served with rice and chapathi
