Moong dal vada is an quick and easy appetizer or snack to make for evening tea time. This vada made with yellow moong dal is nutritious and loaded with protein and is very addictive.
Moong dal / pesarapappu is a common lentil found in the Indian pantry. Yellow moong dal is easy to digest and also cooks very quickly. This is also one of the first lentils introduced to babies when they start their solids as it is easy to digest.

Ingredients Required
- Moong dal – 1cup
- Onion – 1 chopped
- Green chillies – 3
- Ginger garlic paste – 1/2tsp
- Salt – 2tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1tsp
- Coriander leaves
- Oil for deep fry
Preparation
- Add 1cup moongdal into a pan and clean once.
- Add water and let soak for 1 to 2hrs
- 2hrs later add soaked moongdal into a mixi jar
- Add green chillies, cumin seeds, salt, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves and grind to coarse paste
- Add grounded paste into a bowl and add chopped onion
- Now prepare vada and drop them into hot oil
- Fry till colour changes, can be served as tea time snacks
