Mushroom Fry


In this article, I’ll share how to prepare mushroom fry. 

Mushroom Pepper fry is a easy and delicious side dish or starter from Southern India.  Mushroom and capsicum are a nice combination . Capsicum gives a nice crunch with soft juicy mushrooms. This is the quickest recipe to try with mushrooms.

For making this simple Mushroom fry you need just a few basic ingredients.I have used  green capsicum only but you can add yellow ,red ,orange capsicum too ,which gives a nice color to the ready dish.

This Mushroom Pepper fry is a versatile dish. You can serve this as a starter , or as a side dish with rice  or roti. You can also use the same mushroom pepper fry to stuff in sandwiches and make mushroom pepper sandwiches or make kathi rolls with the same stuffing.

Ingredients Required
  • Mushrooms – 250gms
  • Capsicum – 1 or 2 based on size
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Green chillies – 2 chopped
  • Oil – 2tbsp
  • Ghee – 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1tsp
  • Salt – 2tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 2tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1/2tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/2tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1tsp
Preparation
  1. Clean mushrooms properly and chop into half or 4 pieces
  2. Add oil into heated pan, 1tsp ghee
  3. Add cumin seeds and fry
  4. Add chopped onion and mirchi and fry till onions are translucent
  5. Add 1/2tsp ginger garlic paste and fry for 2mins
  6. Add chopped mushrooms , turmeric, salt and mix all together
  7. Close lid and cook for 10mins in low heat
  8. 10mins later cook in between medium to high heat and let water evaporate completely
  9. Then add chopped capsicum and fry till it is cooked perfectly in medium heat
  10. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder and fry for 2 to 3mins
  11. Finally garnish with coriander leaves
