Mysore Bonda


In this article, I’ll share how to prepare mysore bonda. 

It is an extremely popular deep-fried snack recipe from the south indian cuisine made with plain flour. it is known for its round ball-shaped soft texture and hence the name of bajji or bonda recipe. 

It is popular street food, evening snack recipe served with the combination of spicy chutney. In this post I added chutney preparation which tastes perfect with mysore bonda.

Ingredients Required

For Bonda Preparation

  • Oil for deep fry
  • Maida – 1cup
  • Curd – 1/2cup or required for the batter
  • Salt – 2tsp
  • Cooking Soda – 1/2tsp

For Chutney Preparation

  • Green chillies – 10 to 15
  • Roasted chanadal – 1/2cup
  • Tamarind – very little based on your taste
  • Salt – 1tsp
  • Oil – 2tbsp
  • Red chillies, chanadal, uraddal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves
Preparation

For Bonda Preparation

  1. Add maida into a mixing bowl
  2. Add salt, cooking soda and mix all together
  3. Add 1/2 cup curd, if required add more curd or water and mix to thick batter
  4. Rest for 30mins
  5. 30mins later add bonda into oil and deep fry them
  6. Bondas are ready now

For Chutney Preparation

  1. Add 2tbsp oil into a heated pan
  2. Add green chillies and fry them almost it takes 2 to 3mins
  3. Let them cool for sometime
  4. Add green chillies, roasted chanadal, salt, tamarind into mixi jar and grind to fine paste by adding water
  5. Add tampering for the chutney
  6. Add oil to the pan and add red chillies, chanadal, uraddal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves
  7. Now add the tampering to the chutney and mix
  8. Serve bonda along with this perfect chutney combination
