In this article, I’ll share how to prepare sweet shop style poha mixture at home.
Chivda or Poha Chivda is a quick and easy tea time snack made with poha (flattened rice), dry fruits, peanuts, and spices.
It is popularly consumed as an evening snack with a cup of tea. It is simple yet easy to prepare, and easily last longs for a couple of weeks.
There are several snacks recipes with indian cuisine which mainly differs from location to location and region to region. This recipe is specific to western india, particularly, maharashtra and northern karnataka. having said that, poha chivda recipe is common in gujarat too but is more sweet in taste.

Ingredients Required
- Poha
- Peanuts
- Fried Chanadal
- Cashews
- Green chillies – 2 chopped
- Curry Leaves
- Oil – 3tbsp
- Turmeric – 1/2tsp
- Salt – 2tsp
Preparation
- Add 1 cup poha to a heated pan and fry for 4 to 5mins in low heat till they are crisp
- Now keep them aside
- Add oil to the same pan
- Add peanuts and fry for 2mins
- Add fried chanadal, green chillies, curry leaves, cashews and fry till all are fried completely
- Add turmeric and fry for 1min and add fried poha and mix
- Add salt and mix
- Finally poha mixture is ready to serve
