In this article, I’ll share how to prepare ridge gourd chanadal curry.
For the people, who don't prefer eating ridge-gourd curry as it is, you have the best replacement which is Ridge Gourd Chana Dal curry. It has both tastes, the taste of ridge-gourd as well as the cooked chana dal which adds a wonderful flavour. This combination is something which you should look out for.

Ingredients Required
- Chanadal – 1/2 cup
- Ridge Gourd – 1
- Onion – 1 chopped
- Green chillies – 2 chopped
- Ginger garlic paste – 1/2tsp
- Oil – 2tbsp
- Red chillies – 1
- Mustard seeds – 1/2tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2tsp
- Curry leaves
- Turmeric – 1/2tsp
- Salt – 2tsp
- Red chilli powder – 2tsp
- Coriander powder – 1/2tsp
- Garam masala – 1/2tsp
Preparation
- Add chanadal into a bowl and clean once, add water and let soak for 30mins to 1hr
- 1hr later add oil to heated pan
- Add red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry
- Add chopped onion and mirchi, fry till onion is cooked 80%
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 2mins
- Add chopped ridge gourd, soaked chanadal and mix
- Add turmeric and salt, mix once, close lid and cook for 10mins in low heat
- Add red chilli powder, coriander powder mix once, close lid and cook for 2mins
- Add garam masala and mix
- Finally garnish with coriander leaves
