Mango Rasam This Recipe is a delicious tangy rasam made from Raw Mangoes and combined along with fresh spice powders and coriander leaves. It makes a great side dish along with hot steamed rice and Fries.
It is a the perfect recipe for summer season. The Mango Rasam has the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and sour flavours, best served piping hot, making it a great addition to a meal with rice and curry, or even as a soup or palate cleanser. It is a twist to the traditional rasam recipe.

Ingredients Required
- Mango - 1 or 1/2 based on the sour taste
- Red chillies- 3
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2tsp
- Curry leaves
- Salt - 3tsp or based on your taste
- Oil- 2tsp
- Green chillies - 3 sliced
- Onion - 1 sliced
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/4th tsp
- Rasam powder - 1tbsp
- Turmeric - 1/2tsp
- Coriander leaves
Preparation
- Chop raw mango into medium size pieces.
- Add them into a cooker along with 1/4 cup water and cook for 4 whistles.
- 4 whistles later turn off the stove and let it cool for sometime.
- Then mash cooked mangoes and keep aside.
- Now to prepare rasam, add oil to heated pan.
- Add red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry
- Add sliced onion and green chillies and fry till onion changes colour.
- Then add very little ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
- Now add cooked and mashed mangoes and saute for a minute.
- Add water according to the mango sour taste to adjust the exact taste. Mostly 2 cups water.
- Add salt, Rasam Powder, turmeric and let boil for 8 to 10mins.
- 10mins later garnish with coriander leaves.
- Mango rasam is ready to serve.
