Mango Rice - A simple raw mango flavoured rice recipe which can be ideal lunch box recipe or can also be served for breakfast.
It is a south indian delicacy and is prepared with left over rice. Generally pulihora recipe is prepared from leftover rice with lemon juice and other spices. Lemon juice is added for the tangy taste with the addition of lemon flavour. However in this mango rice recipe, raw tangy mangoes are added in the place of lemon juice and hence the Mango Rice/Mango pulihora recipe.

Ingredients Required
- Raw Mango - 1
- Red chillies - 2
- Chanadal - 2tbsp
- Uraddal - 1tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1tsp
- Curry leaves
- Green chillies - 3 sliced
- Salt - 3tsp
- Turmeric - 1/2tsp
- Peanuts - 1/4 cup
- Oil for tampering
Preparation
- Peel of the layer for raw mango.
- Grate mango and keep aside.
- Cook rice and keep aside.
- Add 3tbsp oil into heated pan.
- Add peanuts and fry, transfer into plate and let cool them.
- Now for tampering in the same pan add Red chillies, chanadal, uraddal, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies and fry.
- Now add grated mango and saute for 4 to 5mins till colour changes
- Add salt, turmeric and mix.
- Turn off the stove and let it cool for sometime.
- Now add it into rice and mix.
- Finally add fried peanuts also and mix.
- Mango rice is ready to serve.
